This was a festive occasion for both Vesteda and Huis van Actief Burgerschap, since Vesteda is the first company to partner with the initiative. Vesteda has found an inspiring partner with a shared vision in Huis van Actief Burgerschap: both believe in the power of citizens, community spirit and lively neighbourhoods.

Vesteda strives to foster a housing market in which affordability, sustainability, accessibility and solidarity are central, based on our desire to contribute and do good for the world. Michiel de Bruine, COO of Vesteda: "We want to use our homes to actively contribute to solving society's current challenges. Through our new mission and strategy, Housing as a force for good, we are helping to create liveable and sustainable living environments to enhance the well-being of our tenants. We have started this partnership with Huis van Actief Burgerschap to bolster this ambition."

About Huis van Actief Burgerschap
Huis van Actief Burgerschap is a place where active citizens, citizen initiatives and other interested parties can meet to inspire one another and join forces. It is a platform and knowledge centre that stimulates active citizenship through research, education and practical initiatives. Huis van Actief Burgerschap's approach is based on co-creation: residents, government bodies and businesses work together on an equal footing to make neighbourhoods stronger, more resilient and more self-reliant. In this system, existing initiatives are supported and strengthened instead of being replaced by a top-down approach.

Inspire and connect
This partnership is in line with Vesteda's strategic targets related to tenant satisfaction and social strategy. It is a scalable and future-oriented approach that will help Vesteda achive its mission and societal ambitions. Teun Gautier, co-founder of Huis van Actief Burgerschap: "It's great that Vesteda is taking the step to enter into this partnership with us. There is a lot of potential for collaboration between businesses and citizen initiatives, and we will explore and develop these opportunities together. It's an important step for the resident movement."

The first steps, set-up and knowledge sharing
Vesteda is incredibly enthusiastic about this new partnership with Huis van Actief Burgerschap, and is looking forward to employing the organisation's expertise, inspiration and knowledge in its complexes.

huurders,news,pers

The homes will be built by construction firm Van Wijnen. Heijmans Vastgoed is the selling party in the Tromppark project. The Westergouwe project is a sub-development in the area development of the same name, in which Heijmans Vastgoed B.V. and VolkerWessels Vastgoed are acting jointly as developer and seller.

The Willemsbuiten project in Tilburg consists of 42 family houses varying in size from 116 m² to 121 m². The Willemsbuiten project will include a total of around 500 homes, the majority of which will be sold to private buyers. For more information, please go to www.willemsbuitentilburg.nl.

The Westergouwe project in Gouda comprises 71 houses varying in size from 112 m2 to 124 m2. The houses will be realised in the upcoming second phase of the suburban expansion area Westergouwe, where a considerable number of homes have already been realised as part of phase one. The development includes plans for a total of 4,000 homes. Construction is scheduled to start at the end of 2019 and delivery is expected in the first quarter of 2021. For more information, please go to www.westergouwe.nl.

The Tromppark project in Dordrecht comprises 40 houses in the existing area of Wielwijk. The homes vary in size between 131 m2 and 139 m2, which makes them slightly larger than the average house. Vesteda sees this as a response to the need among larger families for a spacious home in an urban environment. Construction is scheduled to start in the middle of the second quarter of 2020 and delivery is expected at the end of the second quarter of 2021. For more information, please go to www.hurenintromppark.nl.

Pieter Knauff, Director Acquisitions Vesteda: “With the acquisition of these 153 sustainable family homes, Vesteda will help meet the growing demand for affordable, spacious homes for families in mid-sized cities. The locations in Tilburg, Gouda and Dordrecht will in the years to come develop into independent neighbourhoods with a high-quality living environment. These neighbourhoods also have good connections with the historic city centres and excellent connections to the big cities in the surrounding area, both by car and by public transport.”

Vesteda,pers,projecten,huurders
