Amersfoort council launches toolkit to fight housing market discrimination

Research carried out the Amersfoort city council and others has revealed that people still face discrimination in the allocation of rental homes in the Netherlands. Vesteda does not accept any form of discrimination. We apply the same rental conditions for all potential tenants, regardless of religion, ethnic origins, disability, gender or sexual orientation.

This is why we have been working with the Amersfoort city council and other organisations since 2020. Our collaboration with the city of Amersfoort has resulted in a toolkit, which was recently developed and distributed by the city council. This toolkit includes a number of tips on how to tackle discrimination on the home rental market and how to raise awareness at rental agencies.

We have published our standpoint on discrimination on our website, and this makes our position on discrimination clear and helps to address discrimination on the housing market.
