Start of construction De Weverij in Enschede

On Wednesday 7 December 2022, the official starting signal was given for the construction of De Weverij: an apartment building with 116 apartments, designed by Tangram Architekten from Amsterdam. A plate with the logos of the partners was symbolically screwed onto a pole, which then disappeared into the ground.

At the location of the former Twentse Textiel Maatschappij (TETEM), Koopmans is realising TETEM 3 for Vesteda. This name is the project name for the last iconic building to be realized in the Roombeek district. "As Koopmans, we are proud to be able to make this contribution to the reconstruction of the 'own' Enschede," says Hans Smit, Chairman of the Board of Koopmans Bouwgroep.

The completion of the apartment complex is expected at the end of 2024. Vesteda will then rent out the apartments under the historicizing name 'De Weverij'. "The name and the beautiful design of De Weverij do justice to the rich history of the location and the tragic fireworks disaster that hit the district in May 2000. On that identity, 116 new residents of rental properties in the middle segment will soon be able to build their home and community," says Pieter Knauff.
