Vesteda buys 55 rental apartments in Haarlem

Vesteda has signed a turnkey agreement for the acquisition of 55 rental apartments on Aziëweg in Haarlem. The project is located in the Schalkwijk district of the city and is a former development of housing corporation Pré Wonen, which has now been taken over by construction firm HSB from Volendam. HSB is building a total of two apartment blocks, Twister and Tango, with Tango destined for the rental sector (Vesteda) and Twister for the owner-occupier market. Vesteda expects Tango to be delivered in the second quarter of 2018.

The two apartment blocks will have a very distinctive feel thanks to their striking curved form. Each floor will consist of five three-room apartments with average floor space of approximately 90m2. The apartments will be fitted with underfloor heating and a balcony across the entire frontage. The apartments will be marked in the mid-rental segment.

Twister and Tango are located within walking distance of the local neighbourhood shopping centre, have good public transport links for Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport and the city of Amsterdam. They also have a fast bus connection to the Amsterdam Zuid district and are close to main road connections.

Nico Mol, director Acquisitions & Development at Vesteda: “We are very positive about this project. Tango is Vesteda’s first project in Haarlem. It is a striking and very special apartment block with excellent apartments and spacious balconies in a park-like environment. Haarlem is a strong rental market and there are very few new-build rental projects in the city.”
