Vesteda’s Housing Market Indicator remains stable at 5.5

In the first quarter of 2023, market conditions for housing investors in the Netherlands were valued at 5.5 according to Vesteda's Housing Market Indicator. This is a small plus compared to the previous quarter, but this indicates that the investment climate for Dutch homes is under pressure. There remains a high demand for rental housing in the private sector and despite the difficult market conditions, institutional investors are keen to invest in Dutch rental properties.

Housing Market Indicator
As an objective indicator of the current market situation we developed the Housing Market Indicator (HMI). This tool provides a quick but thorough overview of the Dutch housing market from a residential investors perspective. The HMI will be updated twice a year.
