Vesteda adds 134 apartments to Leiden portfolio

Vesteda has acquired the Alpha project in the Lammenschans district of Leiden. The Alpha project is being developed by Green Real Estate in cooperation with BOGOR Project Development and will be realised for Vesteda on a turnkey basis by construction firm Waal. Alpha is a high-rise residential block with 134 in-demand apartments with average floor space of 80 m2 and commercial space on the ground floor.

Pieter Knauff, director Acquisitions at Vesteda: “With the acquisition of project Alpha we give further substance to the expansion and improvement of our portfolio. The project is part of the development plan to transform the former business area Lammenschansdriehoek into an attractive residential area with a high-quality and vibrant urban atmosphere. We will be able to position these relatively spacious homes, with an excellent price-quality ratio, in the mid-rental segment of the liberalised rental sector.”

The Alpha residential block is located on the Bètaplein square and offers excellent accessibility. The project is right next to the railway station Leiden Lammenschans, with excellent connections to Utrecht, The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The University of Leiden and the city centre are both within easy cycling distance. The A4 motorway is also within easy reach. The Rhine-Schie canal and the Cronesteyn polder park are located immediately behind the Lammenschansdriehoek area. According to the planning, the residential block is due for delivery in the first quarter of 2018.
